Launch a new Tentacle
This one-shot installer checks out Cthuwu and launches a production Tentacle with this
public Acolyte address as its initial operator. Inspect install.sh before
piping it to Bash and run it as an isolated, unprivileged OS account.
Registering the public Acolyte address…
troubleshooting an existing node
If a stopped Tentacle was launched without this operator, replace the data-directory
placeholder with that node’s exact configured directory, authorize this Acolyte,
then restart it. Production is the default; add --xmtp-env only for a
deliberately non-production node.
Registering the public Acolyte address…
Every XMTP installation or restored backup for this Acolyte inbox inherits its operator
authority. Close every other Cthuwu tab using this identity before opening the console;
revoke the address on the Tentacle if the Acolyte identity is compromised.
Both commands contain only the public EOA; the private key stays in this browser.
Branding assignment is independent: an Acolyte claimed by one Tentacle may operate and
directly message another. Opening a conversation grants no role. Each Tentacle verifies your operator authority independently.
